Career Day and Business Event 2023
For 2nd graders we organise the Career day on Thursday 26 January 2023. On this day, you can hear about options you have for minors and specialisations. A day later, on Friday 27 January 2023, all students are welcome on our Business event. Companies, universities, recruiters and more will give you an overview of the possibilities you have for your internship, graduation project or after you graduate. And astronaut André Kuipers will talk about sustainability.
On the 27th, there is also The Analytical Challenge, specially for students analytical chemistry. The programs consists of six speeches from experts in the field and a lot of networking opportunities during lunch and drinks. Theme is Detecting and Analysing Nature’s Molecules. Biography dr. André Kuipers
Want to learn more about our special guest on 27 January, dr. André Kuipers? Read his biography.
In his presentation, dr. Kuipers will talk about sustainability and about medical aspects in space.
'Onze kwetsbare aarde / duurzaamheid Vanuit de ruimte is goed te zien dat wij wonen op een kleine bol in een groot, donker heelal; de aarde is in feite zelf een ‘ruimteschip’ met beperkte voorraden. Nieuwe technologieën – van recycling tot aardobservatie door satellieten – zijn noodzakelijk voor een goede toekomst.
Als medicus liet André Kuipers zich inspireren door het idee de mensheid te helpen om verder de ruimte in te kunnen reizen. De manier waarop het menselijk lichaam zich aanpast aan de omstandigheden in de ruimte, heeft hem altijd geïntrigeerd. Binnen de lucht- en ruimtevaartgeneeskunde nam André deel aan uiteenlopende onderzoeksprojecten. Tijdens zijn ruimtemissies voerde André tientallen medische experimenten uit en was hij vaak zelf ‘proefkonijn’.
