Tenants can get help if they have problems, for example with maintenance or questions about their contract. If you want you can get your room measured by the specially trained Huurteam.

Paying too much rent? Always had your doubts about the service costs? If no one else can help, maybe you can hire the Huurteam. This institution aims to check one hundred rooms in Nijmegen according to the national points system.
New floor
Students Henriette and Jitske have been living on the Willemsweg in Nijmegen for a few months now. When Jitske was putting a new floor in her room she got the feeling that it was probably smaller than the indicated 20 square meters.
Too much rent
2nd year Law student Bart, in charge of measuring the room, gets a little nervous when he sees the 8 corners of the room. ‘This is going to take a while.’ The outcome is that the rent is about € 20,- too high.
Later that day the Huurteam visited another room where they find out that the tenant is paying € 130,- too much per month. Now the landlord will be contacted. If he agrees that the rent is too high the contract can be adjusted. If not, the case will go to the Huurcommissie and there will be a session, where the Huurteam assists the students.
