Studying in Nijmegen

Nijmegen, or Novio Magus as it was known in Roman times, is the oldest town in the Netherlands. It has approximately 160,000 inhabitants and is surrounded by woodlands, castles and polders. Nijmegen is close to the German border and has excellent rail and road connections to all over the Netherlands and Europe.

If you decide to study in Nijmegen, you will be just minutes away from beautiful countryside, historical sites and the rest of Europe. The municipality of Nijmegen is currently working on modernising the city centre, while preserving its historical elements. A lot of attention is given to arts and cultural events.

Nijmegen is also known for its International Four Days Marches in July. With 40,000 participants each year, it is the largest marching event in the world. Even if you aren’t marching yourself, the concerts and other festivities make it an experience not to miss!
