Molecular Plant Biology

The Molecular Plant Biology exchange course at HAN University of Applied Sciences offers the latest developments in molecular level plant research.

You will gain advanced experience in areas such as DNA and protein research. You will also gain practical hands-on skills that you can directly apply to your current job or future laboratory career.

You will work with cutting edge molecular level research to complete 2 main practical assignments. One is based on gene expression and the metabolites formed during fruit colour formation. The other assignment investigates plant-pathogen interaction and the interaction between plant and pathogenic fungus at molecular level.

Other areas addressed include genetic modification of plants and in-vitro tissue culture. A final theoretical assignment involves the development of a new crop plant with novel characteristics and the development of a scientific display poster.
