Vehicle Acoustics

The department of Vehicle Acoustics is embedded in the faculty of the Arnhem School of Automotive Engineering of the HAN University in the Netherlands.

Our mission is to:

• Transfer function 3D map at drivers position Educate students / future testing engineers at a higher vocational level in the field of Noise, Vibration and Harshness
• Support ( regional ) industry with advice and troubleshooting in our field of expertise 
• Develop further insights and tools in close collaboration with an international network of R & D partners

Transfer function measurement setup
We have a strong focus on the development of practical and hands on experimental measurement techniques for:

• Prototype development, mainly vehicles
• Acoustic control of products and processes

Our strong points are:

• Cabin interior noise problems
• Road traffic and aircraft noise reduction 
• Sound source localisation techniques 
• Characterisation of acoustic properties of materials 
• Micropore leaktesting and localisation
