Bram Veenhuizen professor Vehicle Mechatronics
Bram Veenhuizen is currently professor in Vehicle Mechatronics at the HAN University of Applied Sciences.
Professor Bram Veenhuizen received his MSc degree from the physics department of the Free University of Amsterdam in 1984. From 1984 until 1988 he was PhD student at the University of Amsterdam. In 1988 he received his PhD degree on a subject in solid state physics.
From 1988 until 1994 he was research engineer at SKF Engineering and Research Centre in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, working on electromagnetic detection methods for material properties and sensors based on the magnetostrictive properties of amorphous metals.
From 1994 until 2002 he was project manager and group leader at van Doorne’s transmissie bv, mainly working on transmission system design and development projects for the variator of continuously variable transmission (CVT) systems.
From 2002 until 2006 he was assistant professor at the mechanical engineering department of the Eindhoven University of Technology. The main research focus here was on efficiency improvement of CVT systems.
Since 2005 Bram is professor in vehicle mechatronics at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands. Research focus is on hybrid drive systems based on fuel cell technology and on the application of alternative fuels, mainly hydrogen.
